We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale enterprise‑grade B2B SaaS platforms. This is a senior individual contributor role for an engineer who owns backend architecture end to end and enjoys working on complex, distributed systems that power high‑scale products.

You will lead development across APIs, microservices, and data pipelines, partner closely with product, frontend, analytics, and security teams, and apply AI‑assisted engineering workflows to accelerate delivery while maintaining high quality, performance, and reliability.

• Architect, build, and scale backend services and APIs
• Design and operate distributed, cloud‑native systems for enterprise SaaS platforms
• Lead complex refactors, code reviews, and backend architecture decisions
• Build services supporting LLMs, RAG pipelines, vector databases, and AI agent workflows
• Develop data pipelines and backend integrations across SQL and No

• Leverage AI‑assisted tools for development and testing
• Prototype ideas through spike‑first experimentation before full implementation
• Define SLIs/SLOs, improve observability, and ensure system reliability and performance
• Produce high‑quality technical documentation and design specifications
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Product, Frontend, Analytics, and Security teams

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, primarily focused on backend systems
• Strong experience with Python frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, Django)
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and data modeling

• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Familiarity with microservices, containerization, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and observability tools
• Proven ability to deliver complex backend systems in fast‑paced or high‑growth environments
• Experience using AI‑assisted developer tools in daily engineering workflows

Hybrid – Pleasanton, CA

This role requires on‑site presence at least three (3) days per week in our Pleasanton office.
