Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: $35–$40 per hour + overtime

Work Schedule:
  • 12-hour shifts
  • Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Night Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
  • Overtime available as needed

Position Overview:

VCPG is seeking a highly professional Unarmed Corporate Security Officer to provide 24/7 coverage for business operations. Core functions include access control, visitor management, lobby/console coverage, interior and exterior patrols, incident response and escalation per SOP, and accurate report writing — all delivered with discretion, strong customer service, and decisive action.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Control access points; verify employee and visitor credentials; issue and retrieve temporary badges.
  • Staff lobby/console; monitor CCTV cameras and alarm systems.
  • Escalate incidents per SOP and coordinate with first responders when required.
  • Conduct interior and exterior patrols (doors, stairwells, loading docks, mechanical/electrical spaces).
  • Identify, document, and report safety hazards.
  • Complete timely and accurate Daily Activity Reports (DARs) and incident reports.
  • Preserve evidence when applicable.
  • Support emergency procedures including medical response, fire response, evacuation, and shelter-in-place.
  • Maintain disciplined radio communications and thorough shift hand‑offs.
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience: 5–10 years of professional security experience (corporate or campus preferred).
  • Education: Associate degree required.
  • Licensing: Active California BSIS Guard Card (Unarmed).
  • Certifications: Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Availability: Ability to consistently work 12‑hour day or night shifts with overtime as needed.
  • Technology: Proficient with smartphones, incident‑reporting applications, and email.
  • Work Authorization: Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Background: Must pass background screening consistent with role requirements.
  • Transportation: Reliable transportation to San Francisco (site accessible via BART, Muni, bus, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior site lead or supervisor experience.
  • De‑escalation training (MOAB, Verbal Judo, or equivalent).
  • Control room/CCTV console and visitor management system experience.
  • Exposed firearm permit and/or CCW, or eligibility to obtain within first 6 months of employment.
  • EMT background.
Physical & Environmental Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for most of a 12‑hour shift.
  • Patrol several miles per shift.
  • Climb stairs regularly.
  • Occasionally lift up to approximately 35 lbs.
  • Work primarily indoors with periodic outdoor patrols.

  • Clear, concise written communication with zero‑defect reporting.
  • Integrity, confidentiality, and sound judgment under pressure.
