Position: Travel Nurse RN - ED - Emergency Department - $2,515 per week

Overview

Hours:

36 per week.

Shift: 12 hours, evenings.

Responsibilities
  • Rapidly assess and triage patients upon arrival, prioritizing care based on severity
  • Explain emergency procedures and treatments to patients and families
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments per emergency nursing protocols
  • Prepare equipment and assist physicians during emergency treatments and examinations
  • Monitor patient comfort and safety, responding to immediate needs
  • Observe and document patient conditions within scope of practice
  • Take and monitor vital signs, addressing deviations to prevent complications
  • Respond to life-saving situations according to nursing standards, policies, and procedures
  • Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in EMR
  • Initiate patient education plans according to acute care needs
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care
  • Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice
  • Adhere to hospital safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
Required Qualifications
  • One year of recent ER RN experience
  • Valid RN license in state regulations
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
  • Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC)
  • Current PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC Certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • TNCC, NIHSS, CPI, NRP and SANE certifications
  • Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position
Summary

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) delivers rapid-response, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency department setting. This role involves assessing patient conditions, implementing urgent care plans, administering life-saving treatments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality, efficient, patient-centered care in critical situations.

Essential Work Functions
  • Rapidly assess and triage patients on arrival
  • Explain emergency procedures and treatments to patients and families
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments per protocols
  • Prepare equipment and aid physicians during treatments
  • Monitor patient safety and comfort in the ED
  • Document patient conditions as required
  • Take and monitor vital signs with clinical judgment
  • Respond to life-saving situations per standards and protocols
  • Document nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes in EMR
  • Initiate patient education plans
  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, paramedics, social workers and staff
  • Perform other duties within scope of practice
  • Adhere to safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
Required Essential Skills

  • English language proficiency (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; PC skills
  • Physical Abilities - ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50-100 lbs), push, pull, and bend
  • Interpersonal Skills - ability to work effectively with diverse personnel
  • Technical/Motor Skills - ability to grasp, manipulate, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures
  • Mental Requirements - ability to handle frequent contact with the public, meet deadlines, work under supervision occasionally, and maintain focus under pressure
  • Sensory - visual acuity and effective communication
