Bio‑Rad Laboratories is seeking a dynamic and driven Product Manager for ddPCR Software Applications to join our fast‑paced Digital Biology Group – where innovation meets purpose.

In this role, you'll serve as the bridge between our scientific experts, software engineering teams, and end users, translating complex laboratory workflows into powerful yet intuitive digital experiences. You'll define the roadmap and priorities that ensure Bio‑Rad's digital PCR software continues to set the standard for performance, usability, and reliability in both research and clinical environments.

How You'll Make An Impact Product Ownership & Vision
  • Own and communicate the software product vision and roadmap for Bio‑Rad's digital PCR platform.
  • Translate customer, market, and scientific requirements into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Prioritize the product backlog to maximize value delivery across RUO and IVD product lines.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Systems Engineers, and UX Designers to define cohesive, instrument‑to‑cloud workflows.
Agile Leadership
  • Partner closely with Scrum Masters, Developers, and Test Engineers to plan, execute, and deliver high‑quality software releases.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer during sprint planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews.
  • Validate feature completion and ensure that releases meet both user needs and compliance requirements.
User & Market Understanding
  • Develop a deep understanding of digital PCR assay workflows, from plate setup to data analysis and reporting.
  • Engage directly with customers, Field Application Scientists, and Technical Support to gather feedback and identify pain points.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor offerings to guide product differentiation and innovation.
Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure software development activities align with Bio‑Rad's Quality Management System, including ISO 13485, IEC 62304, and IEC 62366 requirements.
  • Support design control documentation, risk analysis, and verification/validation planning.
  • Contribute to regulatory submissions and audits for IVD software products.
What You Bring
  • Education:

    BS in Computer Science, Bio Informatics, Biomedical Engineering, Molecular Biology, or related field.
  • Work Experience:

    3‑5 years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or Software Product Manager in a life sciences or diagnostics environment.
  • Proficiency with Agile/Scrum methodologies and backlog management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure Dev Ops).
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent credential.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with scientists, engineers, and stakeholders.

Location: This position must be based in Pleasanton, California and requires the employee to be located within commuting distance of the office.
