Day - 10 Hour (United States of America)
This is a Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley job.
Job SummaryThe Lead CT Technologist supervises, coordinates, and evaluates the system and staff responsible for completing CT orders. Oversees a variety of technical, fiscal, and administrative activities to ensure the efficient operation of the CT department. Leads regulatory compliance and survey readiness of the areas assigned. Performs CT and stress testing procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision.
Responsibilities- Participates in coaching, mentoring and goal setting for performance development of staff
- Assists in the maintenance of staff licensure, education and certification record
- Performs procedures and utilizes electronic system to verify and process orders.
- Follows infection control practices, practices universal precautions and maintains a cleans and organized work environment.
- Maintains protocols and procedure books within the CT department. Keeps all protocols current and assists with establishing of new protocols when needed.
- Maintains inventory of medical supplies in CT department
- Assesses and monitors the patient; reports and documents change in the patient’s condition and/or support equipment (I.V., oxygen, chest tube, ET tube, etc.).
- Interacts with the patient, family members and other staff to help educate them on the procedure.
- Understands any age-related patient needs and responds accordingly; reassures patient and consistently tries to obtain cooperation while reducing anxiety.
- Processes images and prints films as needed.
- Attends staff and departmental meetings and participates in hospital wide work groups as assigned.
- Employee must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the C-I-CARE Standards of the Hospital. C-I-CARE is the foundation of Stanford’s patient-experience and represents a framework for patient-centered interactions.
Education
- High school graduate or equivalent
Experience
- Prefer at least three years of previous hospital experience in imaging
- Prefer at least one-year experience performing CT procedures
- Prior supervisory experience preferred
License/Certifications
- ARRT and ARRT (CT) certification and maintenance.
- CRT licensure and maintenance.
- IV and Venipuncture certification
- Current American Heart Association BLS Certification

- Strong verbal and written English communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of the hospital and departments

- Knowledge of hospital safety, quality and joint commission standards
