Rotating - 08 Hour (United States of America)

The Echocardiography Technologist performs Echocardiography and Stress Echo testing procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. He/she performs and assumes responsibility for a variety of technical procedures assigned.

The essential functions listed below are general examples and not a description of comprehensive duties. • Performs procedures as trained utilizing Echocardiography and electronic systems to verify and process orders.
• Transmits study and submits folder with completed documents to Cardiologist for dictation. Notifies Cardiologist of studies to be read and of critical findings.
• Follows infection control practices, practices universal precautions and maintains a cleans and organized work environment.
• Assesses and monitors the patient; reports and documents change in the patient’s condition and/or support equipment (I.V., oxygen, chest tube, ET tube, etc.).
• Interacts with the patient, family members and other staff to help educate them on the procedure.
• Understands any age-related patient needs and responds accordingly; reassures patient and consistently tries to obtain cooperation while reducing anxiety.
• Assists in Cardiology as directed.
• Attends staff and departmental meetings and participates in hospital wide work groups as assigned.
• Employee must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the C-I-CARE Standards of the Hospital. C-I-CARE is the foundation of Stanford’s patient-experience and represents a framework for patient-centered interactions.

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Certificate Echocardiography Program

• Prefer at least one year of previous hospital experience in Echocardiography with knowledge of 2D, M-Mode, Doppler, contrast studies, TEE, and Stress Echo.
• Prefer at least one-year experience performing Stress Echo testing

• Registered Diagnostic Cardio Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) registered or eligible (must achieve within 6 months of employment).
• Current American Heart Association BLS Certification

• Ability to work flexible schedules and varying locations as assigned
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of the hospital and departments

• Problem solver and critical thinker with the ability to anticipate possible issues
• Strong computer skills
• Self-initiative
• Knowledge of hospital safety, quality and joint commission standards

Base Pay Scale:
Generally starting at $53.57 - $72.11 per hour. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
