Make Your Mark:As the Director of Engineering for Studio 360, you will be the visionary leader at the heart of one of Black Line's most strategic products. You will own the technical strategy and execution for Studio 360, championing engineering excellence and managing KPIs for quality, predictability, flow, and velocity to deliver robust, high-quality features that define the future of financial automation.
By leading a world-class, cross-functional organization of managers and engineers, you will drive innovation and best practices in architecture, code health, and agile delivery. Your leadership will be pivotal in shaping a product that transforms how our clients work, cementing Black Line's position as an industry innovator.
Your influence will extend beyond just the technical execution. You will act as a key strategic partner to product management, design, and other business leaders to define and align on the long-term vision and roadmap for Studio 360. A core part of your mission will be to develop the next generation of engineering talent, fostering a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and ownership.

Experience
- 16 or more years of relevant industry experience.
- Significant tenure with a US product company with experience in global engineering practices.
- 8 or more years of experience in managing software engineering teams, internal infrastructure, developer tools, or distributed computing infrastructure.
- 3 or more years of direct Engineering Management or Dev Ops, with hands‑on leadership experience, including continuous builds and deployments, continuous integration, log collection and analysis, performance monitoring and tuning, as well as security.
- 5 or more years of direct experience in Agile Methodologies, processes, and best practices.
- 7 or more years of recent experience in supervisory positions, directing and managing employees either directly or through subordinate management staff.
- Recent experience in a director‑level role overseeing software engineering in large‑scale organizations focused on Web Applications/SaaS.
- Excellent leadership skills showing commitment, strategic foresight and planning, integrity, and moving the team and organization towards continual success.
- Highly communicative leader who can reduce inefficiencies and ensure clarity.
- Proven ability to mentor leaders within the organization to create additional leadership opportunities for staff, as well as allowing the ability to separate tactical vs. strategic thinkers.
- Prior hands‑on technical experience with C# (preferred), C++, Java, Python, Go, or equivalent languages.
- Previous development experience and extensive knowledge of following: C#.ASP .NET, Node, JavaScript, MSSQL, performance optimization and tuning.
