We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to take full ownership of our Accounts Receivable operations.
Our AR process is well-structured and running effectively. The right candidate will maintain that standard, ensure accuracy and timeliness, and serve as the primary operational owner of billing and collections execution.
This position plays an important role in protecting cash flow, maintaining client billing clarity, and ensuring financial documentation is accurate and audit-ready.
Responsibilities:- Manage end-to-end client invoicing and accounts receivable tracking.
- Execute consistent and professional collections follow-ups.
- Apply payments and resolve billing discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain and review aging reports; elevate exceptions when needed.
- Track contract billing terms, renewal dates, and billing accuracy.
- Maintain organized and audit-ready financial documentation.
- Provide limited AP or finance admin support as needed.
- Learn and operate internal accounting and reporting systems.
- Invoices issued accurately and on schedule.
- Aging reports maintained with discipline.
- No surprises in collections.
- Clear documentation and clean audit trails.
- Seamless handoff from finance leadership with minimal disruption.
- 3+ years experience in Accounts Receivable or general accounting.
- Experience with Quick Books or similar accounting software.
- Strong understanding of billing cycles and accounting fundamentals.
- High attention to detail and ownership mindset.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized, deadline-driven, and reliable.
- In-office position (Pleasanton, CA).
- Potential transition to full-time based on company needs.
