Overview

We are seeking a dependable Laboratory Technician to join a growing chemical distribution company in Pleasant Prairie, WI. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with steady hours and strong long-term potential. The role blends lab support, organization, and hands‑on technical work — ideal for someone who is detail‑oriented and comfortable working independently. This team has one Lab Tech on-site, so we’re looking for someone who is self‑motivated and able to manage responsibilities with minimal direction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform lab support tasks including filing, paperwork management, and data entry
  • Enter quality results into LIMS and maintain organized records
  • Stock and manage laboratory supply inventory
  • Maintain clean and orderly lab work spaces and equipment
  • Handle retained samples (store, retrieve, dispose per protocol)
  • Support waste handling, including flammable waste and lab disposal processes
  • Maintain gas cylinder areas and assist with cylinder changes as needed
  • Assist with basic lab work such as preparing standards for new blends
  • Provide general support to chemists, lab leadership, and technical teams
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required
  • Strong organizational and clerical skills
  • Comfortable working with chemicals in a lab environment
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and maintain a clean workspace
  • Prior lab or chemical experience preferred (not required)
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related field is a plus
Work Environment
  • Safety-sensitive laboratory setting
  • Independent work style required (small team environment)
  • One onsite interview process
Growth Opportunity

This role has historically supported both degreed and non‑degreed candidates. For candidates with a chemistry degree, this position can serve as a stepping stone into a future Chemist role if openings arise. (

Note:

Chemist roles may involve off-shift hours, such as 3rd shift.)
