Description:
Performs patient education related to surgery and fracture care.
Triages patient phone calls by assessing and prioritizing incoming inquiries to ensure safe and timely care.
Manages PT/INRs for surgical patients before and after surgery.
Submits prescriptions as directed by the provider.
Completes and reviews FMLA, disability, and other forms needing provider attention before submission.
Schedules surgeries for patients.
Demonstrates skills in applying splints, managing fractures and dislocations, burn care, mole removal, skin biopsies, and suture removal.
Handles insurance verification and workman's comp/injury reporting.
Engages in patient teaching and follows up on care as needed.
Maintains universal precautions in all interactions.
Communicates with pharmacy for patient refill requests.
Utilizes charting system for documentation purpose.
