The Production Scheduler plays a pivotal role in ensuring that customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on schedule. This position requires strong cross‑functional collaboration, problem‑solving skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
ResponsibilitiesThe Production Scheduler is responsible for the entire order fulfillment process, from order entry to production of customer orders. Key duties include:
- Process all incoming orders accurately to meet delivery schedules and customer specifications.
- Verify IML and brand plate inventory before production start and order materials if necessary.
- Communicate with Sales and Operations to demonstrate how customer needs will be met.
- Use Rehrig Management System to establish work standards and identify deviations.
- Implement A3 problem‑solving to resolve gaps and enhance work standards.
- Maintain floor stock requirements for key customers and manage inventory levels according to seasonal demands.
- Plan production that balances customer needs, plant capacity, and overhead costs.
- Coordinate with Freight Coordinator on order completion dates to account for transit times.
- Address gaps in core processes related to scheduling through root‑cause analysis and resources.
- Assist with case management for customer service failures to determine root causes and process gaps.
- Work closely with cross‑functional groups to ensure smooth order fulfillment with Customer Service, Production, Shipping, and Freight Services.
Minimum Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Planning or other relevant experience, 2+ years.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and intermediate Excel skills.
- Intermediate level experience with JDE.
- Capability to work in a fast‑paced, 24/7 work environment.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
