In a team‑based environment, the Production Planner provides a critical link and works closely with Engineering, Program Management, Purchasing and Manufacturing to support all planning activities in a timely manner.
Nature of Duties- Schedule and manage work orders, coordinating product and material movement through manufacturing processes to completion and on‑time shipment.
- Review backlog to determine material shortages and capacity requirements to provide commitments feedback to customers.
- Coordinate the efficient expediting of materials and work in process with purchasing, production and engineering.
- Proactively identify areas of potential supply concerns, keeping in mind capacity constraints and shortages, and communicate analysis/recommendations to all impacted parties.
- Demonstrate sound judgment in selecting methods and techniques for material planning and production scheduling.
- Working knowledge of Kinaxis Rapid Response advance planning systems is a plus and highly desirable.
- BS/AA degree with APICS training; advance planning system knowledge is a plus.
- 2+ years’ experience as a Production Planner or equivalent.
- Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent Oracle 11i, MS‑Excel, MS‑Office and MRP knowledge.
- Must be able to communicate in both written and spoken English.
