The role requires providing daily respiratory treatments and ventilator management. Therapists will perform BiPAP and Airvo checks as necessary. They will be responsible for PRN treatments, codes, and bedside procedures. Maintaining patient charts with documentation of therapies provided is essential. Therapists are expected to attend all codes, first responses, fire alarms, and trauma alerts. They must participate in emergencies and respond to RRTs as required.

Therapists should accompany patients on respiratory equipment during transfers or testing. Bedside pulmonary function tests will be conducted and sent to pulmonology. Therapists will perform overnight pulse oximetry testing and assist with bronchoscopy procedures. Drawing arterial blood gases for ICU patients is also a part of the responsibilities. Assistance with scheduled therapies, such as CPT, will be expected. Therapists will support neonatology in critical cases, including surfactant delivery.

Communication with management regarding gas supplies is vital. The role demands readiness to assist with various respiratory therapies and equipment management.
