Mammography Technologist (Coordinator) POSITION PURPOSE
Under the supervision and direction of a radiologist, maintains high-quality imaging standards, consistently achieving a repeat rate not exceeding 5%, while ensuring optimal image quality and patient safety. Demonstrates effective leadership through strong organization, clear communication, and timely problem resolution to support daily operations. Ensures exam rooms are properly stocked, clean, and inspection-ready at all times to support efficient workflow and regulatory compliance.
Actively supports continuous quality improvement initiatives and maintains ongoing readiness for regulatory and accreditation inspections. Demonstrates flexibility in scheduling and staffing to meet departmental needs during fluctuations in patient volume. Provides ongoing development, guidance, and clinical support to mammography staff, fostering a collaborative, efficient, and patient-centered team environment.
- Modality-Specific Designated Imaging Facilities
- Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology or graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Minimum of 5 years of mammography experience.
- Demonstrated experience with accreditation compliance, quality assurance, workflow coordination, and leadership.
- Licensed Radiographer in the State of Wisconsin
- ARRT registered in Radiography (R.T.(R))
- ARRT registered in Mammography (R.T.(M))
- Current BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross), or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
- Provides functional and day-to-day leadership to mammography staff
- Serve as a mentor and clinical resource for staff.
- Expert knowledge of mammography procedures, positioning, and breast imaging workflows
- Working knowledge of MQSA, ACR, AR, and state regulatory requirements
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to balance clinical responsibilities with coordination and oversight duties
- Proficiency with RIS/PACS, EMR, and scheduling systems
- Ability to educate staff, patients, and providers effectively.
