The Pleasant Hill R-III School District is seeking candidates for an
Assistant Special Education Director and Process Coordinator for
The purpose of the Special Education Assistant Director/Process Coordinator role is to provide support to special education staff, students and families, provide professional learning opportunities for staff and to participate in compliance updates and meetings to support special education compliance within the district.
Reports to:
Director of Student and Special Services
Qualifications
Required:
* Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in special education
* Extensive knowledge of the special education process
* Valid MO Special Education Teaching Certificate
* Experience in evaluation, diagnosis and special education service delivery (PC Experience)
* Administrator or Director of Special Education Certification preferred
Knowledge/Skills Requirement:
* Knowledgeable with Missouri Special Education Standards and Indicators
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Flexibility to work independently and collaboratively as needed
* Strong organizational and time management skills
* Active participate in professional development opportunities in regard to special education practices and compliance requirements
* Ability to lead professional development for classified and certified staff
Job Duties (to include but not limited to):
* Maintain and review special education referral process
* Arrange and conduct student placement staffings to assigned building(s)
* Participate in KCLASE/Pertinent Trainings as district representative
* Share compliance updates with Process Coordinators and department staff
* Lead Process Coordinator, SLP, PAT, Transportation meetings
* Coordinate District-wide Extended School Year
* Provide professional development opportunities for special education staff (certified and classified)
* Lead monthly meetings with building special education staff and building administration
* Additional duties may include participation in administrative meetings, working with staff for training or problem solving purposes and participating in student problem solving meetings throughout the district.

Contract Length: 208 Days
Salary: minimum $65,000 with consideration provided for experience
