- 7+ years of experience managing Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) programs on large industrial or power generation construction projects.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA LOTO requirements, energy isolation procedures, and multi-employer worksite coordination.
- Experience supporting turbine, electrical, and balance-of-plant (BOP) construction or commissioning activities.
- Proven ability to lead field crews, coordinate with multiple contractors, and enforce safe work practices.
We are seeking an experienced Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Lead to support two nearby large-scale power generation projects in Nebraska. This role will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all energy isolation and LOTO activities across both sites. The LOTO Lead will work closely with construction, commissioning, safety, and operations teams to ensure all work is performed safely, in compliance with OSHA and site‑specific procedures, and with minimal impact to schedule.
The ideal candidate brings strong field leadership, deep knowledge of LOTO systems, and experience working in fast‑paced, multi‑contractor project environments.
- Lead and manage the site Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) program across two active project sites.
- Develop, implement, and maintain LOTO procedures for electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and thermal energy sources.
- Coordinate energy isolation plans with construction, commissioning, safety, and operations teams.
- Issue, track, and control LOTO permits, locks, tags, and documentation.
- Verify proper isolation of equipment prior to work and ensure safe return to service after completion.
- Train and mentor craft, supervisors, and contractors on site‑specific LOTO procedures and best practices.
- Conduct field audits, inspections, and compliance checks to ensure adherence to OSHA and project safety requirements.
- Investigate LOTO‑related incidents or near misses and implement corrective actions.
- Interface with multiple contractors and disciplines to manage simultaneous work activities safely.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports related to LOTO activities and compliance.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations related to hazardous energy control (29 CFR ).
- Experience with high‑voltage electrical systems, rotating equipment, and industrial process systems preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, one‑lines, and electrical/mechanical drawings.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to enforce safety standards in the field.
- Comfortable working in active construction environments, including heavy equipment and energized systems.
- Willingness to split time between two nearby project sites as required by project needs.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training or trade background preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in industrial construction, power generation, or heavy industrial facilities with direct responsibility for LOTO or energy isolation programs.
- Prior experience in a LOTO Lead, Safety Lead, or similar field leadership role strongly preferred.
- OSHA 30 or equivalent safety training preferred.
