Job Summary
University of Wisconsin‑Platteville is seeking a Student Employment Coordinator
. The Coordinator will manage a high level of customer service and compliance for all student employment needs, including recruitment of over 700 student employees per year, onboarding and offboarding, and creation and delivery of recruitment training for managers. The role manages the Student Employee Handbook and webpage, and creates a student job description library, posts student employment opportunities, and ensures positions fall within the established pay structure.
The Coordinator will receive, respond to, and resolve all student employment questions and inquiries, and may supervise student employees. The Coordinator also provides administrative support to the Human Resources department, including management of incoming phone lines, central email inboxes, office traffic, and other office administrative duties. This is a full‑time position offering excellent benefits and paid leave. Hourly rate is $20.50 - $22.28, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
- Manage full‑cycle recruitment of student employees
- Coordinate with Financial Aid Office and department leadership on any change in policies and procedures concerning student payroll
- Process wage increase/title change requests
- Interpret policies and procedures and explain student payroll procedures, Social Security rules, exemption status, and other related matters
- Act as backup to Payroll Specialist regarding time unit training
- Attend New Student Registration and promote on‑campus student employment
- Maintain and submit Student Verification of Employment/Unemployment/Affordable Care Act records
- Create and maintain various HR specific reports, databases, and/or records to ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and legal rules and regulations
