Position SummaryThe Department of Biology at the University of Wisconsin‑Platteville invites applications for a tenure‑track Assistant Professor of Biology in Health Sciences. This is a full‑time, 9‑month, position beginning in August 2026. The ideal candidate will have a background in anatomy or physiology, laboratory experience, and the ability to teach courses such as Human Anatomy & Physiology, Human Gross Anatomy, or other advanced biology courses.

- Demonstrated competency teaching multiple existing courses (e.g., Human Anatomy & Physiology, Human Gross Anatomy, Unity of Life) and the capacity to develop and teach courses within your area of expertise.
- The typical teaching load is 12 credits per semester.
- Engage in evidence‑informed pedagogy to teach undergraduate students in classroom and laboratory settings.
- Student academic advisor: provide career advising/mentorship to pre‑healthcare students.
- Actively participate in research/scholarship/professional activities, engage in service to the department, college, university, profession, and public. Other duties may be assigned by the Department Chair.
- Doctorate or terminal degree (PhD, MD, DO, DC, DPT, etc.) in anatomy or physiology, biology, or a closely related field.
- An ABD (all but dissertation), if hired, will be contractually obligated to have earned their degree by January 1, 2027.
- Ability to teach undergraduate courses in Biology including Anatomy & Physiology. A minimum of two semesters teaching undergraduates, completed during or following graduate studies.
