Education Recruitment and Retention Coordinator
University of Wisconsin-Platteville, School of Education is seeking a Recruitment & Retention Coordinator. The position focuses on recruiting students interested in careers in education and providing support and programming to retain them through program completion.
Position SummaryFull-time academic year (9‑month) role, benefit eligible with opportunity for additional summer pay. Salary range: $43,000–$45,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities- Oversee student recruitment and retention efforts for the School of Education through data-informed decision making.
- Promote education programs to first‑year and transfer students by meeting with prospective students on campus, visiting K‑12 schools and 2‑year colleges, attending education-focused career fairs, and planning on‑campus group events.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage on‑campus group events, including scheduling logistics and securing necessary resources to promote education programs and retain students in educational programs through professional development and community building activities.
- Develop, coordinate, and manage efforts to increase enrollment of underrepresented students in education majors and support them through program completion.
- Develop and manage targeted communication plans and materials, including the School of Education’s social media accounts, to promote programs and engage prospective and current students.
- Counsel and advise prospective, admitted, and current education students on educational planning, career opportunities, and program‑related guidance.
- Provide academic advising for Elementary Education majors. Manage the Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP) for qualifying education majors.
- Evaluate the School of Education recruitment and retention program effectiveness and provide recommendations for improvement.
