Key Responsibilities- Safe Operation: Safely operate a Class A tractor-trailer to transport freight and hazardous materials to local customer sites.
- Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations, especially regarding Haz Mat handling and transport.
- Pre/Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough daily inspections of the tractor, trailer, and safety equipment to ensure roadworthiness and regulatory compliance.
- Cargo Management: Properly load, unload, and secure hazardous materials, ensuring correct weight distribution and the use of required placarding.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs, shipping papers, and delivery receipts.
- Customer Service: Act as a professional representative of the company when interacting with clients and site managers.
- License: Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Endorsements: Current Hazardous Materials (Haz Mat) endorsement required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of verifiable CDL Class A driving experience.
- Recent Local Driving
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of recent local driving experience. - Safety Record: A clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major violations in the last 3 years.
- Physical Standards: Must possess a current DOT Medical Card and be able to pass a pre‑employment drug screen and background check (including TSA security threat assessment for Haz Mat).
- Skills: Strong knowledge of safe driving practices in high-traffic local environments and proficiency in using ELDs.
- Availability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions.
- Frequent climbing in/out of the cab and trailer.
