Developer, Cloud Engineer - Software, Software Development

Akkodis is seeking a Developer for a Contract with a client in Plano, TX
. Candidate must have strong expertise in Java microservices to design, build, and deliver high‑quality, scalable backend solutions for complex enterprise environments.

Rate Range: $41/hour to $56/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

• Lead the design and development of Java‑based microservices using Spring Boot, AWS, and event‑driven architecture for scalable enterprise applications.
• Guide development teams by providing technical direction, reviewing code, and ensuring adherence to best practices and architectural standards.
• Develop microservices integrated with Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines to support high‑performance, cloud‑native workloads.
• Coordinate with UI and backend developers, architects, and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration, troubleshooting, and end‑to‑end solution delivery.
• Optimize application performance, conduct unit testing with JUnit or similar frameworks, and resolve complex technical issues across distributed systems.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in agile ceremonies, participate in sprint planning, and support continuous delivery initiatives.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering.
• 10+ years of Java microservice development experience.
• Candidate must have strong hands‑on expertise in Java, Spring Boot microservices, AWS, Kafka, Docker, and design patterns to support complex enterprise development.
• Candidate must have proven experience leading technical teams, integrating microservices with modern tool chains (JIRA, Git, Jenkins, CI/CD), and ensuring high‑quality delivery through testing, debugging, and performance tuning.
