Job DescriptionAt Raytheon, we solve tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. We are looking to hire an experienced Senior Embedded Software Engineer to work in a Quick Response Capability (QRC) environment within Space and Air Center. This role offers the chance to work on a variety of projects, from small stand‑alone components integrated into a larger product to strategic code modules that are part of a large legacy system.
WhatYou Will Do
- Develop software rapidly while performing job responsibilities outside the typical software role such as requirement discovery, software security, operating system configurations and product support.
- Develop software in many different languages with a focus on rapidly integrating software components into a customer‑deployed product while maintaining product quality, configuration management and end‑user satisfaction.
- Architect, design, implement, test, and debug integrated embedded real‑time software.
- Work within a cross‑discipline team to define, refine, and improve product concept, implementation, testability, and guaranteed, measurable quality.
- Participate in internal review of software components and systems.
- Collaborate with project managers and other professionals within Engineering.
- Teach, coach, and mentor less experienced staff.
- Occasional business‑related travel may be required.
- Typically requires a STEM degree with a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant software experience.
- Experience developing, testing, and integrating real‑time software applications written in C++ (or closely related languages).
- Experience in computer scripting languages such as Python / Shell / Perl.
- Experience with RHEL operating system.
- Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued Secret security clearance prior to start date; U.S. citizenship required.
- Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases and create requirements as needed.
- Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued Top Secret security clearance.
- Experience with Windows OS, VM/container, and reverse engineering.
- Experience with Scrum techniques of the Agile software development process.
- Experience with Dev Sec Ops pipeline implementation and use, including static code analysis, automated build, and automated test techniques using continuous integration/continuous delivery with test‑driven development approach.
- Relocation eligible – relocation assistance available.
The salary range for this role is USD 86,800 – 165,200. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays, depending on the specific business unit and collective‑bargaining agreement.
Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short‑term and/or long‑term incentive compensation programs, subject to performance and business unit criteria.
