This role is a potential contract to hire and will require resources that do not require sponsorship now or in the future.

As a Hadoop & ETL Developer to support production (L3) in Treasury ADS, individuals will understand design, propose high‑level and detailed solutions, and provide out‑of‑box technical solutions for resolving real‑time production issues. Flexibility to work on weekends at least once a month is required, with the possibility of comp‑off during weekdays. As an individual contributor in business‑as‑usual, individuals must have strong analytical skills to make quick decisions during critical situations.

Engagement with the information architecture team, participation in project meetings, partnership with near‑shore and offshore teammates, and coordination with support teams such as L2, development, testing, and upstream/downstream partners are all essential.

• Understand design, propose high‑level and detailed design solutions.
• Develop out‑of‑box technical solutions for business and technical problems arising in real‑time production.
• Work weekends at least once a month; comp‑off may be granted during weekdays.
• Make rapid, analytical decisions during critical moments.
• Engage with the information architecture team for design solutions and propose new technology adoption ideas.
• Attend project meetings and partner with near‑shore and offshore teammates in a matrix environment.
• Coordinate with L2, development, testing, and upstream/downstream support teams.
• Analyze, code, propose improvement ideas, and drive offshore development activities.
• Respond quickly to production issues.
• Work on multiple projects concurrently and take ownership of deliverables.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts to understand requirements and produce high‑level & detailed design.
• Work with Information Architecture to propose technical solutions.
• Identify technology gaps and propose viable solutions.
• Take accountability for offshore technical deliveries.
• Understand Hadoop, Spark, Python, and ecosystems such as Impala, Hive, Oozie, Pig, Autosys, and UNIX shell scripting.
• Support development teams and QA during the post‑code development phase.
• Identify improvement areas within the application and collaborate on implementation.
• Ensure adherence to defined processes, quality standards, best practices, and high‑quality deliverables.
• Adhere to the team’s governing principles and policies.

• Strong working knowledge of ETL, database technologies, big data, and data processing.
• 3+ years developing ETL solutions using tools such as Informatica, SSIS, etc.
• 3+ years developing applications using Hadoop, Spark, Impala, Hive, and Python.
• 3+ years troubleshooting and operating the Cloudera Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Hive, Impala, Spark, Kafka, Hue, Oozie, YARN, Sqoop, Flume).
• Experience with Autosys JIL scripting.
• Proficient scripting skills in Unix shell and Perl.
• Experience troubleshooting data‑related issues.
• Experience processing large structured and unstructured data sets with Map Reduce.
• Experience with SQL and relational database data extraction applications.
• Experience with data movement and transformation technologies.
• Good to have experience in Python or Scala programming.

• Understanding of the end‑to‑end process of the application.
• Understanding of all application aspects including upstream, database model, data processing, and distribution layers.
