Overview
Tesoro Technology has partnered with a prominent national survey and engineering firm specializing in renewable energy and land development. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Utility Location Field Technician to work in a hybrid remote setting, with a 50/50 split between travel and in-office work. This contract-to-hire position offers significant growth opportunities within a dynamic and expanding company.
Salary: $25 - $32
Hours: 40-60 hours a week
Must have a Valid Driver’s License and a clean driving history
Position OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated Utility Location Field Technician to join our client s team. This role involves providing exceptional services for utility projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, and geophysical locating equipment. The technician will need to handle multiple pipe and line locating projects effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities- Perform underground utility locating using specialized equipment and techniques to identify the location of cables, pipes, and other utilities.
- Interpret blueprints, maps, and land survey data to mark utility lines on job sites accurately.
- Operate heavy machinery such as backhoes and forklifts as needed for site preparation and utility installation.
- Assist with excavation activities, including cabling installation and trenching, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Conduct field surveys to verify utility locations before construction begins.
- Document findings accurately and communicate with project managers and construction crews regarding utility locations.
- Maintain equipment, tools, and safety gear in proper working condition.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents on-site.
- Prior experience as a service technician or in utility locating is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of land surveying practices and blueprint reading is advantageous.
- Hands-on experience operating backhoes, forklifts, or similar heavy machinery is a plus.
- Construction site experience, especially related to underground utilities or cabling projects, is desirable.
- Familiarity with field service operations and underground utility systems will enhance performance in this role.
- Candidates should possess strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with technical skills in utility locating, construction support, or land surveying to contribute to vital infrastructure projects while further developing their expertise.
