Position Overview
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Account Manager to support the Marketing & Events team. This role manages private events from proposal to execution within a designated territory and serves as the primary point of contact for clients across various industries. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, solutions-focused, and skilled in reporting, data entry, and Excel, thriving in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the primary client contact, responding promptly and professionally to inquiries while negotiating and quoting private events, generating invoices, and collecting payments
- Manage event budgets, track costs (catering, AV, and other expenses), and maintain accurate records in the event management system
- Assist clients with menu selection, space planning, and overall event logistics, coordinating internal and external teams for setup and execution
- Support Marketing & Events with database management, market research, administrative tasks, and campaign execution to generate new business
- Own a small territory, cultivating relationships to drive repeat business, upsell/cross-sell opportunities, and prospect new clients
- Shadow and assist Account Managers/Senior Account Managers during PTO or peak seasons
- Ensure compliance with Private Event standards, best practices, and Terms & Conditions
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Film, IT, Accounting, and Food & Beverage teams
- Maintain a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to deliver exceptional client experiences
- 1+ year of experience in event management, marketing, sales, or business development
- Strong reporting, data entry, Excel, and general Microsoft Office/Teams proficiency;
Salesforce and Pardot experience preferred - Experience managing multiple events end-to-end with attention to detail
- Comfortable with metrics, spreadsheets, and basic financial planning
- Proven ability to influence, negotiate, upsell, and cross-sell to maximize revenue
- Highly organized with excellent multitasking, verbal, and written communication skills
- Creative problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset
- Self-starter able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
