Overview

We're Hiring: R&D Assistant Scientist (Sr. Technician / Jr. Scientist)! We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven R&D Assistant Scientist to join a Measurement Sciences (Analytical & QA Sciences) team in Plano, TX. The role focuses on analyzing biopolymer-associated compounds, including dietary fiber, starch/sugars, protein, and related components, supporting research and operations groups.

What You'll Do
  • Coordinate with test requestors and managers to prioritize laboratory tasks effectively.
  • Prepare and maintain chemicals, solutions, and laboratory equipment.
  • Process submitted samples into forms ready for analysis (e.g., milling).
  • Conduct analyses to determine dietary fiber, protein, ash, fat, and moisture content following standard operating procedures.
  • Record and report all testing data accurately in online systems/programs.
  • Organize, maintain, and purge samples regularly.
  • Follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) to ensure laboratory safety, instrument performance, and data quality.
  • Assist managers with lab operations, including safety audits.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Food Science, Material Science, or related discipline.
  • 2+ years of laboratory experience;
    Master’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with HPLC, GC-MS, or IC is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of food nutrients such as fiber, protein, and oil.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word).
  • Ability to learn new techniques and adapt to digital platforms (e.g., Lab Vantage).
  • Knowledge of GLP and hazardous chemical safety practices.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate, orderly records.
