Park Maintenance Worker I & II
Position classification:
Park Maintenance Worker I or II. Hourly rate: $17.91 – $21.50 for I, $18.81 – $22.57 for II.
Hours:
Monday – Friday 6:45 am – 3:30 pm. Occasional holiday and weekend work as needed.
- $175 annual boot allowance and $175 annual jean allowance

- Mows and maintains turf and landscaping; prunes and trims trees and shrubs; removes weeds from beds; removes litter, brush, and debris from assigned areas.
- Inspects, cleans, and maintains tools and equipment.
- May operate power equipment including one‑ton trucks and trailers, push mowers, string trimmers, hedge trimmers, edgers, and blowers; riding mower experience preferred.
- Assists with projects such as sod and seed installation, tree planting, and minor landscape renovations.
- May assist with set‑up and support of special events.
- Regular and consistent attendance is essential.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge of routine construction, repair, and landscape maintenance methods; tool and equipment operation and maintenance.
- Skill in communicating clearly verbally and in writing; operating vehicles and equipment and following instructions.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Experience:
Six months of previous experience in parks maintenance, landscaping, or construction for I;
One year for II. - Valid Class “C” driver’s license (must obtain within 30 days of hire).
- Must pass drug test, driver license check, criminal background check, and social security verification.
Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 75 pounds or heavier with proper equipment; perform light to medium physical work; walk frequently in operational areas; use hand and power tools; maintain vision, hearing, and speech for communication.
