We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with prior skilled nursing experience to serve as Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON). In this key management role you will lead clinical services and ensure residents receive the best quality care.
You will be part of a multi‑disciplinary team dedicated to providing superior clinical care, rehabilitation, wellness, and supportive services that meet the needs of residents and patients. Responsibilities- Maintain nursing service obligations, goals, and standards consistent with licensure requirements and the Nurse Practice Act.
- Oversee, direct, and coordinate nursing staff to provide resident care in line with standard practices.
- Participate in screening prospective residents and ongoing assessment of resident needs.
- Ensure staff adherence to infection control procedures, quality assurance programs, and OSHA requirements.
- Act as liaison between the facility and outside caregivers.
- Conduct employee conferences, counseling, and evaluations; participate in hiring and orientation of new nursing staff; assist with ongoing in‑service education.
- Adhere to the nursing service budget.
- Make decisions regarding all aspects of nursing care, consulting with the Director of Assisted Living, Nurse Consultants, and other resources.
- Ensure provision of appropriate medications, treatments, and nursing services per care plans and physician instructions.
- Monitor and control inventories of drugs and supplies.
- Notify the Director of Assisted Living, physician, and family or responsible party of significant changes in a resident’s condition.
- Formulate care plans based on resident assessments and assign care attendants accordingly.
- Attend department head meetings, staff meetings, and serve on appropriate committees as directed.
- Current, valid licensure as an RN or LVN in the state of practice.
- Knowledge of licensure requirements in long‑term healthcare or assisted living.
- At least 2 years of experience in an assisted‑living setting providing care to geriatric patients.
- Management or supervisory experience required.
