Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Nurse Manager of Critical Care (Medical ICU) to join a leading healthcare organization in the Plano, TX area. This is an outstanding leadership opportunity to oversee a high-acuity 16-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit within a collaborative and innovation-driven hospital environment. The role manages approximately 45 FTEs, driving excellence in patient outcomes, safety, and team performance.
Responsibilities- Provide 24/7 leadership and accountability for the Medical ICU department.
- Oversee daily operations, staffing, scheduling, and clinical workflow.
- Implement and monitor policies, procedures, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to achieve top-tier patient outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Mentor and develop nursing staff, fostering engagement and retention.
- Manage departmental budgets, supply utilization, and strategic initiatives supporting quality and growth.
Required:
- Current RN license in Texas or Compact State
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care leadership experience in Critical Care (ICU)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or Red Cross)
Preferred:
- Masters Degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration
- National specialty certification (CCRN and/or CNRN)
- Experience in a large tertiary or academic hospital setting
- Competitive base salary: $84,849 - $127,274
