Job SummaryThe Clinical Supervisor‑MA or LVN provides leadership and oversight to the clinical support team, ensuring high‑quality patient care and efficient clinical operations. This exempt role is ideal for a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Certified Medical Assistant (MA) with strong clinical expertise, supervisory experience, and a commitment to patient‑centered care. The Clinical Supervisor is directly accountable for clinical team performance and compliance and reports to the Practice Administrator.
RoleAnd Responsibilities
- Clinical Leadership and Oversight
- Supervise daily clinical workflows for one or more clinics depending on staff size, ensuring adherence to protocols and efficient patient flow.
- May provide direct patient care 20–50% of the time to accommodate safe staffing.
- Ensure compliance with clinical safety protocols and infection control procedures.
- Staff Supervision and Development
- Interview and hire clinical staff in collaboration with the Practice Administrator.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate clinical staff performance.
- Coordinate staff schedules and assignments to meet clinic needs.
- Facilitate ongoing education and competency assessments for clinical staff.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Monitor clinical documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA Waiver compliance, vaccine storage and handling requirements, and state nursing regulations (LVNs).
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits.
- Patient Care and Communication
- Address patient concerns and elevate issues as necessary.
- Collaborate with physicians and administrative staff to enhance patient experience.
- Promote a positive and professional environment for patients and staff.
- For LVNs:
Current Texas LVN license in good standing. - For MAs:
Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant certifying body. - Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in an outpatient setting.
- At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
- Current BLS certification.
- Experience in a multi‑provider clinic setting.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency.
- Strong leadership and team‑building skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast‑paced environment.
