Nursing Supervisor (RN) – CVOR Surgery

Texas Health Plano, 6200 West Parker Road, Plano, TX 75093

Full Time Days; 6:30am-3:00pm (40hrs/week, Monday-Friday)

Requirements
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years RN experience; prior charge nurse or similar leadership role required
  • Previous OR experience preferred
  • Leadership experience preferred
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license required upon hire
  • BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) prior to independent patient care, maintained quarterly
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) within 90 days of hire
  • Confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, fast‑paced environment
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Leadership, UBC, and staff to establish, implement, and monitor department policies and procedures; facilitate unit goals and quality improvement.
  • Provide bedside leadership on the unit; coordinate patient flow, care, and assignments; assist manager/director with HR functions, evaluations, coaching, mentoring, recruitment, retention, education, orientation.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members using the Quality Caring Model (basic human needs, respect, encouraging manner, affiliation, problem solving, healing environment, reassurance, appreciation of unique meaning).
  • Model teamwork philosophy, partner with physicians to advance engagement, consistently exhibit THR Promise Behaviors.
  • Facilitate staff attendance at assigned meetings and projects.
  • Promote professional development, maintain competence, serve as role model, hold self and others accountable for reliability.
  • Other duties as assigned.
