The Security Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures and automation processes for a combined IoT and cloud based ecosystem. This role requires a proactive individual who can identify security risks, develop mitigation strategies, and automate security tasks to improve efficiency and security of IoT devices. This is a hands on role involving both security compliance and implementation of security infrastructure.
Responsibilities- Design and implement security to protect IoT devices, and the associated cloud infrastructure from cyber threats.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline build, test, and deploy processes and improve efficiency for IoT device development and manufacturing.
- Identify potential security risks related to IoT devices and develop mitigation strategies to ensure their safety.
- Respond to security incidents and breaches involving IoT devices, conducting thorough investigations and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to device security and data protection.
- Work closely with other teams to integrate security measures and automation processes for security into their workflows.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging feedback and refining security and automation processes for security compliance.
- Proven experience in security engineering for device and cloud infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of IoT security principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving and risk mitigation skills.
- Experience in incident response and security compliance for IoT devices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Relevant certifications in IoT security and automation are a plus.
The Security and Automation Engineer (IoT Devices) will work to protect the organization's IoT devices and data while improving efficiency through automation. This role requires a dynamic individual who can adapt to changing priorities and drive successful security outcomes.
