On behalf of our client, Procom Services is searching for a Security Analyst for a contract opportunity in Plano, TX.

Job Details

The Security Analyst manages and operates vulnerability scanning solutions and enables the discovery, reporting, and prioritization processes. This position interacts with Vulnerability, Cloud, Assessment, and Compliance Team members as well as teams in both business and technical roles to understand requirements and resolve issues with an eye toward continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn, adapt to and support the Vulnerability Management objectives, including vulnerability scanning, prioritization, and remediation.
  • Establish and maintain productive and respectful relationships with other internal business units.
  • Actively investigates the latest in security vulnerabilities, advisories, and incidents.
  • Supports the health and operation of the scan servers.

Business Process

  • Understand security standards and concepts and their practical implications to system risks.
  • Apply understanding as a security analyst to resolve common issues within a given platform or technology.
  • Converts data into business tools; designs and owns dashboards and tracking reports that present data concisely and meaningfully.
  • Uses data for trend analysis or correlation.
  • Thinks analytically
  • Break down business issues or process and translate into security requirements and collaborate with colleagues to present solutions.
  • Apply Security best practices leveraging SANS, OWASP, NIST & ISO recommendations and frameworks.
  • Identify priority/milestones and maintains disciplined practices to complete consulting task and assessments.
  • Use good judgment to involve senior team members when navigating difficult issues.

Security Analyst Mandatory Skills

  • 1-2+ years of experience in security operations and/or incident response.
  • Integrates working knowledge in vulnerability scanning disciplines to create innovative solutions.
  • Ability to influences stakeholder expectations.
  • Resolves or provides recommendations to leadership on issues/changes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of network traffic analysis.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols: TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPs, FTP, DNS, etc.
  • Proficient knowledge of Windows, Unix, OSX, and Linux Operating Systems
