Event Management​/AIOps Engineer

Overview

Akkodis is seeking a Event Management / AIOps Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Plano, TX/Charlotte, NC/Pennington, NJ (Hybrid). Ideally looking for applicants with a solid background in the financial services industry.

Rate Range: $70-75/Hr;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

We are seeking an experienced Event Management professional with a strong focus on improving MTTR (Mean Time to Repair/Resolve) and driving alert noise reduction across enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with IBM Watson AIOps Event Manager.

This role will be responsible for managing, correlating, filtering, and optimizing system-generated alerts to ensure rapid incident resolution and improved operational efficiency.

• Manage and optimize enterprise event management platforms to improve MTTR.
• Implement strategies for alert noise reduction, ensuring focus on high-priority and critical incidents.
• Configure event correlation, deduplication, and suppression rules.
• Leverage AI-driven event analytics (Watson AIOps) or rule-based correlation (Netcool/Omnibus) to enhance operational visibility.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Application, and SRE teams to streamline incident response processes.
• Continuously monitor event trends and recommend improvements to increase system reliability.
• Participate in root cause analysis and post-incident reviews.
• Contribute to UI/UX improvements to enhance user experience within event management tools (preferred).

• Hands-on experience with IBM Watson AIOps Event Manager
• Strong understanding of MTTR as a KPI and strategies to reduce incident resolution time.
• Experience with event correlation, alert tuning, filtering, and noise reduction methodologies.
• Familiarity with enterprise monitoring tools and ITSM processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
