Platform Automation Engineer is a role that focuses on supporting efforts to enhance test automation, develop robust testing frameworks, and ensure the quality and performance of platform systems. Engineers in this role engage in coding, testing, and code reviews, contributing to the improvement of applications and processes for scalability and efficiency. This position involves collaborating across teams to deliver high-quality solutions and providing guidance to junior engineers in adopting automation practices.

• Collaborate on the design and implementation of quality engineering practices for financial technology solutions. Maintain test frameworks to ensure efficient testing across the enterprise. Work on improving automation frameworks for scalable test automation.

• Help define and advocate for testing standards, automation strategies, and best practices in the SDLC. Support efforts to address performance bottlenecks and quality gaps. Contribute to the development of tools for managing test data across environments to support testing.

• Integrate testing tools and frameworks into the CI/CD pipeline, focusing on automating testing within the build and deployment process.

• Develop and maintain automated test environments and data solutions to ensure system reliability, providing engineering teams with necessary tools.

• Collaborate with quality engineering, product, and business teams on best practices in test-driven development (TDD) and automation. Provide guidance to junior engineers on adopting automation practices.

• Develop and maintain tools for performance, load, and stress testing, ensuring alignment with real-world use cases. Work with infrastructure teams to configure scalable testing environments.

• Demonstrate proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Java, JavaScript, Python) and contribute to automated testing frameworks. Support platform quality engineering in financial technology and cloud environments.

• Participate in the adoption of emerging testing technologies, ensuring alignment with the company's innovation and quality strategy.
  
  - (10%)

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related area.
• 2+ years of work experience in a related field such as Software Engineering, Dev Sec Ops , or Quality Engineering.

• Normal office environment. (Remote or Hybrid), 3 to 4 days per month are required in office if within 60 miles of a posted Bread Financial location.
