About the role

As a Principal Consultant
, you will act as the engagement-level functional leader and trusted advisor for large/complex core transformations and conversions onto FIS core platforms (IBS and/or Profile). You’ll define the end‑to‑end functional architecture, lead multi-wave data conversion strategies, govern UAT/readiness, and steer go‑live and stabilization for multi‑entity, multi-country LFI implementations—ensuring compliance, GL integrity, and measurable business outcomes.

Client Strategy & Solution Architecture –

• Shape target operating model and functional blueprint across deposits, lending, treasury/GL, payments integration, reporting, and controls.
• Map to IBS/Profile capabilities and open APIs.

• Own field‑level data mapping, migration design, validation cycles, reconciliation, and prior‑system→core balancing, including GL tie‑outs, with clear change control and acceptance criteria.

• Direct readiness reviews, scenario coverage (BAU + edge), defect triage, non‑functional validation (performance, availability, security) and sign‑off.

• Embed regulatory/network obligations and operational controls in requirements and procedures.
• Ensure auditability and reporting completeness.

• Lead C‑level workshops, steerco updates, and decision forums.
• Drive alignment across product, engineering, and client ops.

• Mentor Leads/Seniors, codify playbooks, estimates, and accelerators.
• Contribute to proposals and solutioning for strategic pursuits.

• 10–15+ years delivering core banking transformations for large/regional or global institutions; deep expertise with IBS and/or Profile (or equivalent core) at scale (multi‑currency, 24/7).
• Proven leadership of end‑to‑end conversions (mapping, mock cycles, reconciliation, GL balancing) and production cutovers for complex portfolios.
• Strong background in integration (APIs, message/file specs) to channels, payments switches, fraud/AML, and data platforms; comfort with ISO 20022 data mapping preferred.
• Executive communication, governance, risk management, and client advisory skills within Professional Services.

• Proven leadership of end‑to‑end conversions (mapping, mock cycles, reconciliation, GL balancing) and production cutovers for complex portfolios.
• Strong background in integration (APIs, message/file specs) to channels, payments switches, fraud/AML, and data platforms; comfort with ISO 20022 data mapping preferred.
• Executive communication, governance, risk management, and client advisory skills within Professional Services.

The annual salary for this position is between $86,500 – $129,500
, depending on experience and qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
