Senior DB2 DBA (Hybrid Onsite Contract)

• Develop log scraping strategies to limit CPU, memory usage, and staging space.
• Build Splunk dashboards to monitor the DB2 environment.
• Collaborate with DB2 teams to set up log retention policies for extended outages.
• Translate business requirements into a physical model, focusing on performance, availability, recoverability, and data access methods.
• Consult application teams on ACF2 and RACF managed database security and ensure appropriate access provisioning.
• Define and implement application‑specific backup and recovery strategies for production.
• Support product upgrades related to DB2 replication, communicate with development teams, and perform DBA remediation activities.
• Provide performance tuning support and recommendations for database calls in cooperation with the development team.
• Monitor and address items on exception reports to maintain a stable production environment.
• Support DBA production on call rotation, including 24X7 SEV1 test support.
• Conduct information sharing meetings with application teams when requested.
• Support self‑identified audits, control assessments, database audits, and SOX reviews, ensuring deliverables are complete and milestones are met.

• 7–9 years of DB2 DBA experience on z/OS at a single large financial institution.
• In‑depth knowledge of DB2 utilities, IBM and BMC tools, and DB2 replication.
• Strong working knowledge of BMC tools (Change Manager, Catalog Manager, Main View, SQL Performance).
• Solid understanding of DB2 recovery options.
• Broad understanding of ACF2 and RACF2 managed security for DB2 access.
• Working knowledge of Endevor, ITSM processes, and BMC Remedy.
• In‑depth understanding of Db2 z/OS, JCL, COBOL, SQL, IBM Utilities, and BMC Utilities.
• Knowledge of SMF data and reporting.
• Ability to use Splunk and Python.
• Experienced in production support and troubleshooting.

Hourly Pay Rate Range: $65.00/hr – $68.00/hr (based on education, experience, location, and job duties).
