UX Design Engineer

Overview

Optomi, in partnership with a leading automotive company, is looking for a Senior UX Designer - Design System to join their Digital Innovations team.

We are seeking a Senior Full Stack UX/UI Designer with a strong passion for systems thinking and deep expertise in building and maintaining enterprise-level design systems. This role involves designing reusable, accessible, and scalable components, including foundational UI elements and complex data visualizations. You will collaborate with product managers, engineers, and designers to enhance consistency, usability, and accelerate product delivery across the organization.

Additionally, you will provide end-to-end UX design support for product teams, helping them adopt the design system and improve product quality.

• 10+ years of professional experience in UX and UI design.
• 5+ years of experience building, maintaining, and evolving enterprise design systems.
• Expertise in tools like Figma or similar, with advanced proficiency in creating component libraries.
• Knowledge of HTML/CSS and front-end frameworks like React.
• Proficiency in data visualization design principles and designing for data-heavy user interfaces.
• Experience collaborating in Agile environments with product managers and developers.

• Lead and evolve enterprise-level design systems to meet the needs of multiple product teams.
• Design and build UI components, including complex elements like responsive data tables and data visualizations.
• Maintain system documentation, interaction guidelines, and accessibility standards (WCAG compliance).
• Partner with engineers to ensure seamless implementation of components.
• Identify gaps and opportunities in the system through audits, usage data, and feedback.
• Advocate for design system adoption and train teams on best practices.
• Contribute to end-to-end UX design efforts for new and existing products.
• Collaborate with UX researchers and data analysts to align system components with user needs.
