The Data Scientist role at Bread Financial is responsible for generating data-driven insights to support enterprise data science needs within the organization. The Lead Data Scientist is pivotal in generating insights and supporting the enterprise's data science needs, as well as enhancing the team's industry competence through research in Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The Data Science team, through this role, supports Marketing by developing predictive and prescriptive models that optimize campaign performance, enable targeted and personalized marketing, and provide actionable insights for acquisition, engagement, and retention strategies. They leverage advanced analytics, AI / ML tools, and secure data-sharing environments to enhance decision-making and drive measurable business outcomes.

• Lead the design, build, deployment, and periodic maintenance of AI solutions.

• Build strong relationships with internal business partners to drive the delivery of enterprise solutions.
  
  - (20%)
• Establishing and executing the framework for engaging enterprise partners to plan new AI solutions.
  
  - (15%)
• Assisting with documentation, compliance, model governance, and maintenance of AI solutions.
  
  - (15%)
• Research advanced modeling and AI techniques to improve predictive modeling and maintain business acumen in relevant industries.
  
  - (10%)
• Training and mentoring to junior Data Scientists. Lead projects as needed or required - (10%)

• Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or Economics
• 8+ years experience in building sophisticated models using machine learning, segmentation, time series, and other advanced analytics methodologies.

• Master’s Degree or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Economics, or other quantitative fields
• Advanced machine learning modeling and / or technical expertise in developing market differentiation data science products.
• Experience in bank card / credit card business, consulting, retail, marketing, loyalty, and / or financial services.

Normal office environment. (Remote or Hybrid), 3 to 4 days per month are required in office if within 60 miles of a posted Bread Financial location.

Ability to travel up to 5% annually
