Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced IBM Z Systems Programmer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Implementing and managing various z/OS products to ensure optimal system performance and reliability
- Collaborating closely with development and operations teams to enhance system functionality and streamline processes
- Designing, coding, testing, and implementing z/OS system software modifications and enhancements
- Conducting performance tuning and capacity planning for z/OS systems and subsystems
- Managing and optimizing z/OS security features, including RACF administration
- Troubleshooting complex system issues and providing timely resolutions
- Developing and maintaining system automation scripts using JCL, REXX, and other relevant languages
- Implementing and managing storage management solutions, such as SMS and HSM
- Coordinating and executing z/OS system upgrades and maintenance activities
- Monitoring system performance and generating regular reports for management
- Staying current with the latest IBM Z technologies and best practices
- Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members
- Participating in on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 system availability
This role requires strong expertise in mainframe tools, programming languages, and debugging utilities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of optimizing z/OS environments and implementing innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
