Magnit Direct Sourcing on behalf of Toyota is currently hiring a Change & Release Management Engineer for a temporary assignment in Plano, TX. This is a 12‑month contract position. The pay range is between $75.00/hr and $80.00/hr benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401(k).

What We’re Looking For
  • Demonstrated experience in IT operations and IT Service Management
  • Proven experience with IT Service Management and ITIL practices, ideally with practitioner certification in Incident, Change, Release, and Problem Management
  • Knowledge of deployment and implementation methodologies (Agile, CI/CD, Blue/Green, Canary) and related technical change management experience
  • Experience in project management with knowledge of approaches, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle
  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Understanding of configuration management principles
Primary Focus:
What You’ll Be Doing

This role will initially focus on implementing a "Lean-Process" initiative that ensures efficiency while preserving the integrity of lower environments, such as QA and Staging. The aim is to balance efficiency, compliance, and quality by prioritizing lean solutions that minimize overhead, all while maintaining necessary integrity and security.

  • Environment Provisioning / Configuration
Lean Approach:
Automation
  • Automate with CI/CD (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) to eliminate manual processes.
  • Implement immutable infrastructure to prevent drift and simplify configuration management.
  • Store configurations in version control (e.g., Git) for visibility, rollback, and consistency.
Lean Approach:
Audit Current State
  • Audit current setup using automated tooling (Terraform validate, Ansible dry‑run).
  • Perform automated risk assessments (e.g., OWASP Dependency‑Check, Snyk).
  • Conduct a gap analysis against CMMI or COBIT to identify high‑value improvement areas.
Lean Approach:
Access Control
  • Implement RBAC with tools like Hashi Corp Vault or AWS IAM/Azure AD.
  • Adhere to the least privilege principle with dynamic access provisioning via CI/CD.
  • Introduce self‑service access requests integrated with automated approval workflows (e.g., Okta, Azure AD).
Lean Approach:
Data Management
  • Anonymize or use synthetic data in lower environments (Data Masker, Redgate).
  • Automate data refreshes tied to environment updates via CI/CD.
  • Enforce data quality monitoring before testing.
Lean Approach:
Change Management
  • Adopt lightweight change control focused on stability, security, and compliance using Git Ops principles.
  • Implement automated approvals via tools like Jira or Service Now.
  • Integrate continuous deployment with gateways (tests, security scans, approvals) to maintain speed without sacrificing stability.
Lean Approach:
Monitoring
  • Utilize centralized monitoring tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana) for environment health and test results.
  • Enable continuous feedback loops to alert QA and development teams in real time (e.g., Slack, MS Teams notifications).
Lean Approach:
Business Continuity
  • Set up automated backups using cloud‑native tools (AWS Backup, Azure Backup).
  • Regularly test disaster recovery through automated CI/CD pipeline integration.
  • Use cloud redundancy (AWS Availability Zones, Azure Regions) to minimize downtime.

    Use automated testing early in the pipeline.

    Use tools like MkDocs or Swagger/OpenAPI for up‑to‑date documentation.
