This role is designed for a highly experienced software engineer who will lead the design, deployment, and automation of infrastructure platforms within Tier 3 data centers. The engineer will be responsible for managing VMware and Open Shift environments, supporting both Linux and Windows operating systems, and driving operational efficiency through automation and cloud‑native practices.

• Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
• Develops secure and high‑quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others.
• Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes.
• Serves as a function‑wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus.
• Architects and maintains VMware infrastructure including vSphere, vCenter, ESXi hosts, Horizon, Workspace ONE, App Volumes, and Dynamic Environment Manager.
• Administers and optimizes Red Hat Open Shift container platforms, including cluster setup, scaling, and CI/CD pipeline integration.
• Leads automation initiatives using Python, Shell scripting, Terraform, and Ansible to streamline provisioning, patching, and monitoring workflows.
• Supports and troubleshoots Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS) and Windows Server environments in virtualized and bare‑metal deployments.
• Collaborates with cross‑functional teams on network setup, firewall rules, storage configurations, and compliance requirements.
• Maintains technical documentation in Confluence and ensures run books are current.
• Contributes to platform‑level test solutions and resilience validation using cloud‑native tools.

• Formal training and certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience; 2+ years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.
• Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in‑depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.).
• Hands‑on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Deep expertise in VMware technologies and Open Shift administration.
• Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Power Shell, Ansible, Bash, YAML).
• Experience with Linux and Windows OS management, patching, and monitoring.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid deployments.
• Experience in administering Active Directory, DHCP, DNS services.
• Experience with microservices architecture, event‑driven systems, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git Hub Actions), telemetry platforms (Grafana, Splunk), Dev Ops automation, and infrastructure‑as‑code using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
• Exposure to AI/ML integration, platform engineering, security protocols, performance optimization, and telemetry.
• Experience in Tier 3 data center operations including air‑gap connectivity, patching strategies, and audit preparation.

• Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight.
• Practical cloud native experience.
