We are looking for a highly skilled Power BI and BDX Developer with 7–10 years of experience to join our team in Warren, NJ. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining robust Power BI dashboards, data models, and integrations to support business intelligence and reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will be a data-driven problem solver with strong DAX and SQL skills, who can collaborate closely with business stakeholders and mentor junior developers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain scalable, visually compelling Power BI dashboards, reports, and datasets.
- Design robust data models using Power BI and associated data sources (SQL Server, Excel, Azure, SharePoint, etc.).
- Write complex DAX expressions for calculated measures, columns, and KPIs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze business reporting requirements.
- Optimize report performance, data refresh cycles, and troubleshoot refresh failures.
- Implement row-level security and ensure controlled access to data assets.
- Work with data engineering teams to validate data accuracy and integrity.
- Automate and manage data refresh schedules and error resolution.
- Mentor junior developers and conduct peer code reviews.
- Contribute to process improvements and BI development best practices.
- 7–10 years of experience in BI and data reporting roles.
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
- Strong experience with DAX, Power Query (M Language), and Power BI data flows.
- Proficient in writing advanced SQL queries for data extraction and transformation.
- Experience integrating Power BI with a variety of data sources (SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, Azure, etc.).
- Experience with BI performance optimization and scalable data modeling.
- Hands-on experience implementing row-level security and access control mechanisms.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work onsite full-time in Warren, NJ.
- Exposure to enterprise data platforms and data governance tools.
- Familiarity with BDX tools and frameworks.
- BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, Insurance) industry experience is a plus.
