TAM Residential is seeking a detail-oriented People Specialist to support HR operations across our multifamily communities. This role focuses on employee onboarding, compliance, training administration, HR data management, and operational support.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and proficient in HR processes and systems, with a strong understanding of HR practices and a passion for fostering a smooth and positive employee experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:- Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires in partnership with Talent Acquisition and managers, including preparing orientation materials, coordinating first-day logistics, processing system access requests, completing I-9s and E-Verify checks, and ensuring all required documentation is accurate and compliant.
- Conduct or coordinate background checks and eligibility verifications.
- Implement new hire orientation programs and team recognition initiatives.
- Assist with or facilitate HR-related training programs, workshops, and seminars, maintaining attendance records and reporting completion.
- Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and optional training, continuing education, certifications, and assessments, including safety training, anti-harassment programs, and professional licensure requirements.
- Perform routine HR administrative tasks, including support for benefits administration, leave management, occupational health and safety programs, and employee recognition initiatives.
- Maintain accurate HRIS records, databases, and employee files, ensuring data integrity and compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Generate HR reports and metrics to assist management in operational decision-making.
- Respond to general HR-related inquiries from employees and supervisors, referring complex matters to the appropriate HR team members.
- Stay current on HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies to support HR operations.
- Support special HR projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
- May participate in employee relations investigations as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 2+ years of experience in an HR or HR support role.
- Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment law compliance.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in HR software (Paycor), ATS, and Microsoft Office Suite; ability to quickly learn new systems.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Spanish language skills preferred but not required.
- Physical attendance at assigned work location during scheduled business hours is required.
- Ability to operate in an open work area with moderate everyday noise.
- Ability to work from multiple locations.
- Ability to perform other duties as required.

BENEFITS:- Associates who are regularly scheduled for and work 30 hours or more per week are eligible for company-sponsored benefits the 1st day of the month, following completion of 30 continuous days of employment. Benefits offered include medical, dental and vision coverage, as well as 401K and life insurance. Regular, full-time associates are eligible to accrue paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay.
