Infusion Authorization Specialist

• Contact insurance companies (phone, portals, fax) to obtain real-time PA status updates
• Document authorization outcomes, reference numbers, and call details in internal systems
• Upload and track approval/denial documentation, authorization numbers, and effective dates
• Review denial letters for completeness before routing to clinical teams for review
• Monitor assigned work queues to prevent delays in patient care
• Communicate updates to pharmacy, clinical, and revenue cycle teams
• Identify payer trends or recurring issues and escalate when appropriate
• Verify patient insurance benefits and coverage for prescribed therapies
• Prepare and submit prior authorization requests with required documentation
• Follow up with payers for status updates and additional information requests
• Track and document all payer communications and determinations
• Collaborate with clinical and operations teams to support timely therapy access

• 1–2+ years of experience in:
• Pharmacy billing, medical insurance verification, or healthcare admin support
• Strong phone communication skills with insurance representatives
• High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
• Ability to manage a high-volume workload and prioritize effectively
• Comfortable navigating multiple payer portals and healthcare systems
• Home infusion experience strongly preferred

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
