Job Summary and Qualifications

  • You will provide management and general operational oversight for Patient Safety and Risk Management and operate as the Patient Safety Officer.

  • You will establish a structure for promoting a patient safety culture, emphasizing risk reduction within the organization while analyzing trends of events to determine process improvements necessary to ensure alignment of patient safety strategies with MCP’s mission, vision, values and goals.

  • You will recognize and address patient safety/risk exposures affecting quality of care and outcomes by evaluating near misses, occurrence reports, clinical surveillance and regulatory/legislative standards.

  • You will be responsible for coordinating those systems necessary for identification, evaluation, monitoring, education and/or elimination of professional and general liability exposures.

  • You will be a strategic thinker with strong analytical and business skills required to manage multiple projects/programs.

  • You will lead process re-design, organization design, change management, communication activities, and conduct training/mentoring of others as related to building the Improvement skill set.

  • You will facilitate goal driven teams and engage individuals in activities that align with advancing the business plan.

  • You will manage physician quality and performance improvement programs and coordinate medical staff peer review data and indicators for the hospital.

What qualifications you will need:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field required.

  • Master’s degree preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • Texas State RN license or compact license is accepted (as applicable).

  • CPHRM or CPPS required.
