Verification of Benefits Specialist

Our client, a leading healthcare organization, is seeking a Verification of Benefits Specialist to join their team. As a Verification of Benefits Specialist, you will be part of the Medical Support Department supporting the Benefits Verification team. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and a team-oriented mindset which will align successfully in the organization.

* ** What's the Job?*
* + Verify insurance benefits for patients across multiple carriers including private insurance, Workers Compensation, and Medicare.

+ Utilize portals and verification tools to confirm patient coverage and benefits.

+ Maintain accurate records of benefit information and communicate findings effectively to team members and patients.

+ Ensure timely processing of benefit verification requests to meet organizational deadlines.

+ Collaborate with physicians and administrative staff to support billing and authorization processes.

** What's Needed?*
* + High school diploma required; AA degree is a plus.

+ Minimum of 2+ years experience in a utilization review environment or similar work experience.

+ Knowledge of private insurance, Workers Compensation, and Medicare guidelines related to utilization review.

+ Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word & Excel); experience with medical billing software is a plus.

+ Strong understanding of CPT codes, ICD-10CM diagnosis coding, and benefit verification processes.
