As a Lending Solutions Specialist Senior within Business Banking, you will support complex SBA and Commercial Real Estate (CRE) business banking loans, and specialized products, client application workflow management, post approval documentation review, loan booking and closing processes. The Business Lending Solutions Specialist Sr will work with the Business Relationship Managers (BRM 2+), Specialty Finance Lending Advisor, with respect to entity review, collateral review, commercial due diligence review and loan documentation for approved loans up to $20mil.
Responsible for review of approval, determination, and verification of due diligence to ensure loan will be closed in accordance with approval as well as preparation/coordination of appropriate specialized loan documentation for new, renewal and modification of loans. Independently identified and manages vendor and documentation risk to the bank.
- Utilize various internal systems to identify information needed and provide to the Credit Officer.
- Utilize workflow tools to monitor status of new deals, annual reviews, and renewals until it is in the credit evaluation stage.
- Review commercial credit application packages for adherence to credit policy and determination of appropriate due diligence necessary to ensure proper collateral position.
- Review the following: business entity and organizational documents to include trust agreements, good standing of business entities and UCC searches.
- Coordinate obtaining and review: equipment valuations, flood checks, as well as other reports and information.
- Exercise critical judgment in reviewing and evaluating real estate title work, valuation reports, environmental reports, and purchase and lease agreements, ensuring that all aspects align with strategic objectives and risk management criteria.
- Apply analytical decision-making skills to review and verify complex Small Business Administration (SBA) documentation, ensuring accuracy and full compliance with relevant guidelines and regulations, while identifying and addressing any potential issues proactively.
- Exercise sound judgment in evaluating all reports and information related to collateral evaluation and verification, ensuring that the terms and conditions of the credit approval are met before proceeding.
- Utilize decision-making skills to prepare custom loan and compliance documentation that effectively safeguards the bank's interests, considering all potential risks and legal requirements.
- Make informed decisions when scheduling loan closings with escrow/title companies, coordinating effectively to ensure a smooth and timely process.
- Demonstrate problem-solving abilities to resolve and complete unbookable loans and address holds from loan servicing, ensuring all issues are addressed efficiently and effectively.
- 2 years commercial loan experience or related business lending experience.
- 1 year experience documenting real estate secured loans.
- Strong knowledge of Business Banking loan documentation, perfection of collateral, as well as laws and regulations affecting appropriate due diligence.
- Experience working in Apstar and Hot Docs.
- Able to act independently in a high-volume environment.
- Able to act as subject matter expert.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to effectively communicate to internal partners.
- College degree or equivalent work experience.
