Responsibilities
Responsible for complex accounting activities supporting the accurate and timely closing of the general ledger. Under moderate supervision.
- Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed asset processing, lease/contract review, accrual entries, and/or budget variance reviews.
- Research and analyze assigned large elements of revenue and expense and the related internal reporting.
- Ensure general ledger account balances are materially correct in compliance with internal controls and GAAP and that internal control risks are tested and documented in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley.
- Lead accounting initiatives/projects including: process improvement, regulatory compliance/changes and policy. Mentors less senior staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

The desired location for this position would be Plano, TX, or Collierville, TN.
RelocationThis position may be eligible for relocation.
Minimum EducationBachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or other related quantitative discipline is required. Related experience may offset degree requirements and related education/degree may offset experience requirements.
Minimum ExperienceFour (4) years experience in accounting for financial reporting in a public accounting firm or in a large for-profit corporate environment.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Excellent analytical and financial analysis skills required.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP standards required.
- Outstanding knowledge of business software, spreadsheet applications and/or mainframe or web-based applications.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills.
