Our client is looking for a Assistant Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the company's financial and accounting activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strategic financial guidance. This role requires a hands-on approach, with a focus on improving operational efficiency, streamlining processes, and enhancing financial reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to contribute their expertise in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist in managing the company's accounting operations, including the production of financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results.
2. Oversee the preparation and monitoring of the annual operating budget to ensure that the company's financial goals are met.
3. Ensure adherence to GAAP standards and regulatory compliance in all accounting operations.
4. Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance. Provide necessary assistance to the audit team and implement their recommendations in a timely manner.
5. Leverage large ERP systems, preferably Epicor, to streamline financial processes and improve operational efficiency.
6. Develop, implement, and maintain internal financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets.
7. Participate in the development of the company's strategic plans and programs as a strategic partner.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
2. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role within a large organization; experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus.
3. Proficiency in using large ERP systems, preferably Epicor.
4. Strong understanding of GAAP, regulatory compliance, and financial reporting.
5. Demonstrated experience in the preparation and monitoring of annual operating budgets.
6. Proven ability in implementing internal controls and providing audit assistance.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make well-judged decisions.
8. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
9. Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to motivate and guide a team towards achieving financial objectives.
